High School Apprenticeship Program

In this unique opportunity as a teaching apprentice, you will become an assistant teacher alongside our camp teachers for 1-5 weeks, depending on your availability. Great to put on your resume for a college application, you will be able to test your experience in volunteering, leadership, education, and community building. We are especially interested in teaching apprentices who hope to study and find careers in education, STEM, environmental studies, and the arts.

- Shining apprentices will have the opportunity to come back to Foghorn next year as a camp teacher.

- Each apprentice will be given a page on our website with the work that they have accomplished during the summer.

- Games, learning, and exercise! All apprentices will be leading participants in games, activities, and lessons.

Responsibilities:

- Required attendance at the Marina Beach from 9AM-3PM Monday-Friday for the week-long camp you are assigned to.

- Be an active participant and leader in all games, activities, and lessons.

- Help set up and take down camp before and after each day.

- Friday leadership activity: Plan, set up, and teach your own 1 hour long lesson for campers at the beginning of the day on Friday.

Requirements to apply:

- Must be 16-18 years of age, either enrolled high school or a recent graduate.

- Must have prior experience working with kids.

- Preference to applicants interested in pursuing careers in the arts, STEM, education, or environmental studies.

- Must have reliable, daily transportation to the Edmonds Marina Beach.

- Must be able to carry at least 5 pound boxes.
